Contract term: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
East London Science School is an aspirational and forward thinking free school which opened in September 2013. ELSS is an inclusive and non-selective school with high expectations for all the pupils in our care. Our ethos centres around creating an environment within which all of our pupils can make exceptional academic progress.
With this in mind, we are looking to appoint a full-time SEN Assistant (who specialises in working with pupils diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and other learning difficulties) to join our highly motivated and friendly team. We are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic learning support assistant who is experienced and interested in supporting a pupil to help them become a confident and happy learner. The successful candidate will be assisting in promoting the learning and personal development of an individual, enabling this pupil to make best use of the educational opportunities available to them.
The successful applicant will be experienced in supporting a pupil with complex learning needs, including low concentration, weak retention of knowledge and support in daily living, which are in line with the pupil’s EHCP plan. It is important for the suitable applicant to ensure that pupils are able to reach their developmental potential.
This is a term time only post. The role would particularly suit someone with a background in learning support/teaching or an interest in these areas.
Joining the school opens up an exciting potential for ambitious applicants.
ELSS offers a full and rigorous programme of CPD support for all our staff based on the school’s educational principles and the professional experience of our staff.
