On Friday 20th April we held the official launch of our new Sixth Form at the historic home of British science, the Royal Institution in Mayfair. Parents, teachers and pupils were joined by a host of guests from science, media and education to help us celebrate this historic milestone in the history of East London Science School.

School Principal David Perks welcomed guests and explained the significance the new Sixth Form for the school’s vision,  “Our ambition is to teach the next generation of scientists, engineers and medics. And we want to become the best Sixth Form in London, which is why we are marking its opening with a public celebration at the Royal Institution.

At our recent Open Day, prospective students had a glimpse at the new Sixth Form. They were invited to look around the laboratories and classrooms, meet staff, take sample lessons and discuss subject and career options.

Online applications for places at the new school are now open and can be found on our Sixth Form section of the school website.

Classes start in September. The curriculum will offer mathematics, further mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and computer science. Alongside these their will be the option of studying A-levels in art, history, philosophy, economics, English and Latin.
